What is Denture?

 

All artificial formations, which replace missing teeth or treat aesthetic impairments for various reasons in the mouth and meet the aesthetic and functional needs of the persons, are dentures (false teeth). In general, tooth missings can occur as a result of the inability to treat gum diseases. In addition, there also occurs some loss of teeth in the end of some accidents. For this reason, dentures, which will serve for the same purpose as healthy teeth functionally and aesthetically, should be made instead of missing teeth.

What is the purpose of denture?

 

In denture, while the lost functions of the patient is tried to be regained, it is aimed for correcting the distorted speech and getting better of aesthetic appearance. Thus, when the oral health that has been lost is corrected substantially, it is ensured that the individuals who have had to live with incomplete or ruined teeth in the society are also supported psychologically. Because the individuals who have to maintain their lives in this way (for a while) forget to laugh at first. This also causes damage to self-confidence in humans as well as functional impairments. It is aimed to increase the quality of life of people with various dentures made for the patients who have this type of illness.

Denture Types

 

  • Fixed Dentures : Cemented dentures like crown-bridge
  • Removable Dentures : Complete (total) or partial dentures.
  • Dentures Onto Implant : Fixed or removable dentures.

Fixed dentures

 

  • Single crown : as single tooth crowning
  • Bridges : crowning of missing teeth together with those adjacent to them. (manner of application in general)
  • Dentures onto the implants : screws and dentures placed into the jaw.

Removable Dentures

 

  • Complete dentures : They are applied in the mouths that have no tooth. Used at old ages.
  • Partial dentures : They are applied to partial toothless mouths. Hooks onto the teeth or nails called clasps, are used
  • Precision Attachment dentures : They are metal-supported dentures that have no hook and are applied to partial toothless mouths.

Dentures onto the Implants

 

  • Fixed : Porcelain crowns that are applied onto one or more teeth.
  • Removable : The dentures like total types that are applied to the complete toothless mouths.

Dental Crown

Is a complete covering of the tooth with an aesthetic material. The most preferred materials are zirconium and porcelain coating.

Orthodontics is a special branch that provides proper setting the teeth onto the dentures, diagnosis and treatment of facial deformity.

Root Canal Treatment

Is the removal of staining on the tooth. Tooth whitening is performed by using blue light and bleaching gel on the teeth, teeth bright with a little hue instantly.
