What is Crowning (Crown Covering) and what is it used for?

Which material is best for crowning?

Today, the most preferred materials are crownings (zirconium covering) made of porcelain completely or metal-supported porcelain crownings. The difference between them is that full porcelain (zirconium) crownings are more aesthetic.

How long does it take to finish a crowning?

Crowning operation is completed at 3 appointments on average. If it needs to be done quickly, it can be completed on 2 appointments too. It should be 2-3 days between appointments. Your dentist make preparations on your teeth as needed, cleanses any decay parts if there exists, and takes measurements to obtain a complete tooth model. According to the obtained model, the crown is placed into its own position after it is made. Once you and your dentist are satisfied with the appearance and position of it, the crown is cemented permanently.
