It is being surrounded of teeth with porcelain

Porcelain tooth is a method of dental crowning which is designed to make the structures of the defective teeth in the mouth and to improve the mouth structure. As can be understood from the name of them, metal-supported porcelain crownings are made by placing metal composite under porcelain during the construction phase. Porcelain crownings are often used in aesthetic dentistry. Porcelains that are made in various tooth forms are covered on teeth, this process is called porcelain crowning. Briefly, the teeth are surrounded by porcelain. Porcelain is produced from natural raw materials. It does not contain a colorant or chemicals. In addition, the porcelain is durable for the sake of its processing and structure. For these reasons, porcelain is a useful material as it is healthy.

The Advantages of Porcelain Crowning

  • Metal-supported porcelains give a dark colour space image in some lights (disco, the flash of photograph machine, etc.) as if they were missing in the mouth. Full porcelains transmit the all kinds of light like natural teeth.
  • When full porcelains create a very similar aesthetic to the natural tooth structure because they transmit the light, there is a dullness and artificiality in porcelain fused to metal even if they are made very well. For this reason, full porcelains are preferred especially in the front teeth.
  • Since there is no metal at infrastructure of porcelain fused to metal, there is not a dark colour line between crown and gum. A more aesthetic view is provided.
  • Porcelains fused to metal are mechanically cemented on the tooth. Full porcelains are mechanically and chemically bonded to the teeth. Therefore, their retention is higher than those fused to metal.
  • The risk of allergies that may occur against some metals used in the substructure (nickel, etc.) is not present in full porcelain.
  • During gum recession, while full porcelains maintain their aesthetic appearance, metal porcelains create a bad view in the region where they combine with the tooth.
